How we made this list. We started with OpenStreetMap records inside Fort Myers’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, and added places from the state’s food license and restaurant inspection records. We checked each place against its own website on Oct. 9, 2026. Two places with no website are confirmed by their state licenses. Where a chain’s site would not load for us, the table says so. Places with a Fort Myers mailing address outside the city limits are not here. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Bare Roots Coffee House on Bayside Parkway, at the west end of downtown, serves certified organic coffee, house-made syrups and fresh oat and almond milks. Its site lists a menu and online ordering ahead.

Bullig Coffee and Bites on Fowler Street has no website we could find. The state’s license record lists it at 1815 Fowler St., inspected in May.

Dean Street Coffee Roastery & Retail and Ella Mae’s Diner are both on the ground floor of the Luminary Hotel downtown. The hotel lists the coffee bar at 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the diner at 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., every day.

Dunkin’ on South Cleveland Avenue holds a current state license. Its location page would not load for us, so check hours on the chain’s site.

First Watch has two breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurants inside the city: downtown on Altamont Avenue and the Colonial location on Dani Drive. Both list an outdoor patio and an online waitlist.

Keke’s Breakfast Cafe on Dani Drive is the Florida breakfast chain’s Six Mile Cypress cafe, open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

McGregor Cafe on McGregor Boulevard has no website we could find. The state’s license record lists it at 4305 McGregor Blvd., inspected in May.

Mel’s Diner on South Cleveland Avenue is a 1950s-style diner that serves breakfast all day, with omelets, pancakes and burgers, and offers curbside pickup.

Shift Coffee Bar is at the west end of City Walk on McGregor Boulevard, open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

Starbucks has four stores inside the city. The First Street and Broadway store downtown is a cafe without a drive-thru; the Fowler Street, Forum Boulevard and Dani Drive stores have drive-thrus. All four list outdoor seating.

Waffle House on Cleveland Avenue lists itself as open 24 hours.
