Summer break in Fort Myers starts after Thursday, May 27, 2027, the last day of school for Lee County students. Lee County Parks and Recreation runs most of the day camps near the city, week by week, and public pools are open across the area. Here is where things stand, and we will update this page with dates as registration opens.

Summer camps
Lee County Parks and Recreation’s summer camps are booked one week at a time, so families can sign up for only the weeks they need. The county lists the 2027 registration date as “coming soon” and says many camps fill quickly. Each camp site holds an open house before summer to meet counselors.
Traditional camp, ages 6 to 11 (age as of Sept. 1): full days of arts and crafts, sports, games, water activities and outdoor time, with one staff member for every 15 campers. The nearest sites to Fort Myers:

Lee County’s pools page says county pools close if the temperature, including wind chill, falls below 60 degrees, and its early warning system watches for lightning. Daily admission at county pools is a few dollars per person, and the county sells six-month passes.
Splash pads and cooling off
- Lakes Park, 7330 Gladiolus Drive: a splash pad open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with cold-weather hours of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park is open 7 a.m. to dusk, and parking is $1 an hour or $5 a day, according to the county’s park page.
