At a trunk-or-treat, kids go car to car in a parking lot collecting candy from decorated trunks.

The city’s own Halloween events for 2026 are not on its calendar yet. In 2025 the city listed a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at the Dr. Ann Murphy-Knight STARS Complex, 2980 Edison Ave. (Wednesday, Oct. 29, 6 to 8 p.m., free), a Boo Bash dance party at the Riverside Community Center, 3061 E. Riverside Drive (Saturday, Oct. 25, 6 to 9 p.m.), and a free Fall Festival at the Quality Life Center of Southwest Florida, 3210 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (Friday, Oct. 24). The Haunted Walk runs Oct. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31. At the Edison and Ford Fall Festival, kids can climb the estate’s historic banyan tree and pick a pumpkin; the estates ask visitors to bring cash for activities.
