Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, Oct. 31. Fort Myers has a full month of it: a haunted trail through the woods at the Calusa Nature Center, a pumpkin patch and train ride at Lakes Park, a costumed tour of the old federal courthouse downtown, two mall candy crawls and a free fall festival under the banyan tree at Thomas Edison’s winter home on Halloween itself.

Haunted walks

Haunted Walk, Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, 3450 Ortiz Ave. The nature center’s walk runs 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31, according to the city’s listing. Tickets are sold through the nature center.

Wicked Walk, Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center, 2301 First St. Tours run 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Oct. 23, in the 1933 former federal courthouse in the River District.

Sloughwitched, Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, 7751 Penzance Blvd. A nighttime walking play on the preserve’s boardwalk, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, staged by the Friends of Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. The county’s release says the walk takes about 90 minutes, groups leave every 15 minutes, it is for ages 10 and up and it is limited to 200 guests. Register at sloughpreserve.org.

Fall festivals

Lakes Park Fall Festival, Oct. 9-31, Lakes Park, 7330 Gladiolus Drive. Lee County Parks and Recreation runs the festival 6 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a pumpkin patch, hayrides, inflatables, the Halloween Express train and the Scarecrows in the Park display in the Children’s Garden. The county charges festival parking Thursday to Sunday. Details: Lakes Park, 239-533-7578.

Fall Festival, Edison and Ford Winter Estates, 2350 McGregor Blvd. On Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free to attend; kids can climb the estate’s historic banyan tree and pick a pumpkin, and some activities carry a charge, so the estates ask visitors to bring cash. Estates: 239-334-7419.

Family Fall Festival, North Fort Myers Park, 2000 North Recreation Park Way. Free, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, with a costume contest, candy, games and music. North Fort Myers is about seven miles north, across the Caloosahatchee River. 239-533-7200.

Candy crawls and trunk-or-treats

  • Ghosts and Ghouls Candy Crawl, Gulf Coast Town Center, 9903 Gulf Coast Main St.: free, Saturday, Oct. 24, candy crawl 5 to 7 p.m. through the center and a costume contest 7 to 8 p.m., with a Halloween party in the courtyard. Center listing.
  • Trunk or Treat, Wa-Ke Hatchee Park, 16760 Bass Road: free, 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, with food trucks. 239-533-6850.
  • Candy Crawl, Edison Mall, 4125 Cleveland Ave.: Friday, Oct. 30, 4 to 6 p.m. Children go store to store in costume at participating shops. The mall says it is for children 12 and under and masks are not permitted. Mall listing.
  • First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd.: a free trunk-or-treat 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. City listing.

Halloween morning run

The Ghost of the Coast 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Eastwood Golf Course, 4600 Bruce Herd Lane, and costumes are welcome, according to the city’s listing.

City events still to come

The City of Fort Myers had not posted its own 2026 Halloween events when we checked. In 2025 the city’s calendar carried a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at the Dr. Ann Murphy-Knight STARS Complex and a Boo Bash at the Riverside Community Center.
