Coronado High School is a tuition-free public charter high school on Cleveland Avenue, inside the Fort Myers city limits, that lets students catch up on credits or finish early. It is “intended for students grades 7-12 up to age 22,” with self-paced coursework in two five-hour sessions a day, the school’s website says. Like every Lee County charter school, it is sponsored by the School Board but run independently by its own governing board, which has hired 2nd Mile Education to run the school, the district’s charter schools page says.

Calendar and bell times
Hours. The day campus runs two sessions, 7 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., and the Coronado Extension School on the Gateway High campus runs from 3 to 8 p.m., according to the district’s charter schools page. Students can switch sessions or attend both, up to eight hours a day, to move faster, the school’s website says.
