Fort Myers posts a weekly public notice of city meetings and hearings; Lee County posts its own. This is an index, not the official publication.

Last checked Oct. 8, 2026. This page is an index for convenience. It is not the official publication of any notice. The legally required notice is the one in the publication or on the official website named by the government that issued it.

Several governments post notices that affect Fort Myers residents: the city, Lee County, the School District of Lee County and the courts. Each publishes its own. This page points you to each official source and summarizes what the city has posted this week.

Where to look

The city’s weekly Public Notice

Each week the City Clerk’s office posts a one- or two-page PDF that lists every city meeting for the week ahead: City Council, the Planning Board, the Code Enforcement Board, advisory boards, and pre-bid and selection meetings for city contracts. It names the time, the room and any public hearings on the agenda. The city warns that “unforeseen circumstances can change the scheduling of meetings,” so check back before you go.

  • City Council, 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at City Hall. No public hearings were listed.
  • Planning Board, 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at City Hall. Hearings on a request to rezone about 8.88 acres at 1751 Ortiz Ave. from Planned Unit Development to Commercial Intensive (Ward 1), and a continued hearing on changes to the transportation, conservation and coastal management, and recreation and open space elements of the Comprehensive Plan.
